The Obstacle Clearance Blade provides a light earthmoving and
obstacle reduction capability for wheeled and tracked vehicles.
Overview
The Obstacle Clearance Blade is designed to resist the forces exerted by
the host vehicle.
It features a energy absorption mechanism to protect the blade and
vehicle against damage from excessive forces, for example driving into
an obstacle at excessive speed.
The blade is fitted with hardened steel cutting edges to give excellent
performance in all ground conditions. When not in use, the compact blade
is raised and stowed close to the host vehicle hull.
The Obstacle Clearance Blade can be used for:
4
Preparing defensive positions
4
Breaching defensive positions
4
Ground levelling (using the ‘float’
facility and
a back-blading action)
4
Removing urban road blocks and obstacles
4
Filling craters
