The Surface Clearance Device clears surface laid mines and munitions ahead of the host vehicle for rapid route and area clearance operations. It can be fitted to heavy and medium wheeled or tracked vehicles

Overview
The Surface Clearance Device (SCD) is produced in two versions; a vee-blade (SMP) for route clearance operations and a straight, side cast angled-blade (RORS) for area clearance.

The SCD is fitted with on-board hydraulic powerpacks, or without if hydraulic power is built into the vehicle.

The SCD is fitted to the vehicle with a simple mounting system which is common to the Mineplough and Dozer.

An optional Magnetic Signature Duplicator (MSD) protects the equipment from the effects of magnetically fused mines.

V Blade also known as: Surface Mine Clearance Device (SMCD), Surface Mine Plough (SMP), Surface Mine Plow.

Straight Blade also known as Rapid Ordnance Removal System (RORS) and Area Mine Plow (AMP).
